Pompey, are you ready to rock!?
Takedown Festival is back at Portsmouth Guildhall for 2026 and it’s going to be bigger, better, and louder than ever before. Taking place on the 3rd and 4th of April, Takedown has been perfectly planned to give attendees Sunday off in order to recover. Ticket holders can expect moshing, head banging, lots of leather, and some of the best alt rock and metal bands in the UK.
It’s a great line up, with a few highlight acts including:
- Phil Campbell and the Bastard Sons
- the wildhearts
- Gnome
- South of Salem
- INME
- President
- Wargasm
- As It Is
- Graphic Nature
- The Hara
- Mason Hill
…and loads more.
There are three stages being used simultaneously, so you will have to pick and choose, and all three floors of the Guildhall are in use. You’ll find merch in the basement, all the different stages on the ground floor, and all the VIP areas on the first floor, including the balcony for the main stage.
It’s an indoor festival (although there is some outdoor seating and a smoking area) so no need to bring much with you other than your baddest outfits and tons of attitude.
Ticket Information

It’s fair to say that Takedown is a bit of a niche festival, which is great news for anyone who enjoys rock and metal, because tickets are very affordable.
You can go for just the Friday or just the Saturday or do both. Here are the costs:
- Friday – £51.97
- Saturday – £69.30
- Both Days – £109.72
You can pay slightly more for VIP tickets which give you priority on the door, as well as access to the VIP bar, VIP lounges, and balcony viewing areas. You can still go and join the mosh pit if you like, but you have somewhere to go chill out afterwards.
On Friday the first bands start at 4pm, with the final acts taking the stage at approximately 9.40pm. On Saturday things kick off at 1.00pm and the last bands start their sets at approximately 9.45pm.
It’s not suitable for young children so under 12s are not allowed in, and anyone under 16 will need to be with an adult.
