Can you believe that the peak of Britpop was 30 years ago? How time flies. But the music of that era has never really gone away. It has a special place in the hearts of those who were there, and those who weren’t have become fans of it in the years that followed.
That’s why so many tribute bands of that era have been able to thrive to this day, and on the 19th of September, many of them will be coming together at Portsmouth Guildhall for The Big Indoor Brit Pop Festival.
Some of the headline acts include:
- Oasiz – One of the UK’s most authentic Oasis tribute bands
- Blur2 – The definitive and original Blur tribute band, renowned throughout the UK.
- Pulp’d – The world’s number 1 tribute band to Britpop royalty.
There will be others too, such as a Richard Ashcroft/Verve acoustic tribute and the Indie 500’s , one of the most established Britpop tribute bands in Essex.
You can expect all the hits you remember, and perhaps a few you had forgotten about too, that will bring memories flooding back when you hear them again.
The event begins at 4pm and ends at 11pm, and tickets cost £32 per person. There are no price bands or anything like that, but there is a processing fee of £4.10!
It’s a 14+ event, so no children, but teenagers can come and enjoy the sounds their parents grew up listening to. Food and drink will be available on site.
