If you are a fan of Funk and Soul music then you need to know about PO4 Live Presents: Craig Charles Funk & Soul House Party. It’s coming to The Gaiety on South Parade Pier on Saturday 25th July 2026 for a summer evening of feel-good dancefloor energy.
And yes, it is that Craig Charles. He might be best known for Red Dwarf and Coronation Street, but his heart has always been in music. Craig is a broadcaster, DJ and long-time funk and soul champion, so the fact he is bringing all of his talents to one of Southsea’s most distinctive waterfront venues is very exciting.
Expect a lively mix of soul favourites, funk grooves, house party classics, rare gems and upbeat tracks designed to keep the crowd moving from start to finish.
Running from 6pm to midnight, the event has the makings of a proper seaside summer session, with the pier setting adding something a little different to the usual night out.
Tickets start from £15 plus fees, so in terms of price it’s a pretty accessible night out for funk lovers, soul fans and anyone looking for a big summer party by the coast.
