If you can’t get the man himself, then Uptown Joel: A Celebration of Billy Joel is the next best thing. It’s a brand new musical production that will be top of the list for fans of the Piano Man, and it’s taking place at the New Theatre Royal on the 16th of January.
The production stars Darren Reeves as the main man, and he is an astounding stand in. Don’t just take my word for it, listen to Billy Joel – he hand picked Reeves to star in his Broadway and West End hit, ‘Moving Out’, in the lead role of The Piano Man. Now, and he is filling Billy’s shoes once again in this musical celebration.
Backed up by a live 5-piece band, Darren Reeves will be belting out all of Joel’s most famous hits like Uptown Girl, It’s Still Rock and Roll to Me, Movin’ Out, New York State Of Mind and many more.
Here is a little taster of what you can expect:
As you can see, it’s a real celebration of the music of a legendary artist, performed by arguably the best tribute act that has ever stepped into the role.
Tickets are a steal at £29 per seat, and that price applies throughout the auditorium. It also includes all fees.
The show starts at 7:30pm, but get there in good time so you can take your seats and perhaps grab a drink beforehand.
