If you were anywhere near a student night out in the 2000s, chances are you’ve already lost your voice to Franz Ferdinand at some point. Now you have that chance again because they are heading to Portsmouth Guildhall on the 10th of March, and if you’ve been in there before you will already know that it’s the sort of venue where you can get really close to the music.
The band are touring their new album, The Human Fear, but they will be playing plenty of old favourites as well, such as No You Girls, Do You Want To, and of course, Take me Out.
Alex Kapranos and Bob Hardy are still banging out the hits, backed up by Julian Corrie, Dino Bardot and Audrey Tait. It’s a solid line-up and they’ve clearly still got the energy for it, despite having been in the game for over 25 years now. Hard to believe, right?
Nevertheless, the punchy hooks and driving guitar sound that made the band famous feel as new and alive as ever, and even though their latest album is about some serious stuff like anxiety, fear, and stepping into the unknown, the songs are still absolute bangers to listen to.
Franz Ferdinand’s The Human Fear tour will be partly a dose of nostalgia, and partly an exciting evening of new music from one of Scotland’s most successful bands. Sure to be a hit with new and existing fans alike.
Tickets are available for:
