Portsmouth Cultural Festival 2026 – Victoria Park, 1st of August

If you want to attend a real community focussed event this summer, then look no further than the Portsmouth Cultural Festival, which takes place on the 1st of August in Victoria Park.

The weather is sure to be glorious, and the event itself will be packed with things to see and do for the whole family. It’s an afternoon designed to celebrate anyone and everyone who makes Portsmouth great, so people from all walks of life should feel welcome. The whole point is to bring people together from different walks of life, it’s all about community cohesion.

Just some of the attractions include:

  • Stalls from lots of local cultural organisations, charities, and businesses, representing a wide range of backgrounds and experiences across Portsmouth.
  • Arts, crafts, and exhibits plus creative workshops taking place throughout the day, where you can get hands on and try for yourself. Located in the glasshouse.
  • Live performances and entertainment throughout the event on the main stage.
  • Community-led interactions celebrating the people of Portsmouth throughout the park.
  • The chance to make your own souvenirs and festival merchandise (Portsmouth themed, of course).
  • Local businesses will be providing food and other goodies, showcasing the full range of cuisines the city has to offer.

There will be things to spend money on when you’re there if you should wish to do so, but the event itself is completely free to attend, so it can be as cheap or as expensive as you want to make it.

It runs from 11am until 4pm, so it has been mindfully arranged to last long enough to allow parents juggling nap schedules to attend either earlier or later in the day.

The whole thing has been organised by URBOND and is just one of the many events that make up Portsmouth100. You can’t have missed this – it’s a year long project celebrating 100 years since Portsmouth was granted city status. Just remember it’s a dog free park, so leave the pooch at home.
