Outdoor Swimmer is a magazine all about swimming in the great outdoors, funnily enough, and 2026 marks its 15 year anniversary. To celebrate, they are hosting the Outdoor Swimmer Pool Party at Hilsea Lido, on the 6th of June.
It’s going to be a fun packed day, focussed on having a good time as well as learning more about the pursuit of outdoor swimming, with the festivities beginning at 10am and ending at 4pm.
To give you an idea of what to expect, some of the highlights of the event include:
• Small-group coaching sessions for a wide range of ages and abilities, led by local coaches and the Outdoor Swimmer team.
• Open swim session and community swimming.
• Relaxed talks and opportunities to meet like -minded outdoor swimmers.
• Zoggs on site with gear advice plus swimwear to buy.
• Stalls, entertainment, crafts and light-hearted races.
• Fancy dress, birthday party games and cake.
There are activities for the whole family, Zoggs will be offering discounted goggles to ticket holders, and everyone is welcome – it’s not just for seasoned swimmers.
It will cost you the following amount to get in:
- Adults – £16
- Children/students 8-18yrs – £8
- Family – £40
- Under 8s – free
Plus, a limited number of 2 for 1 tickets are available!
Hilsea Lido is the ideal venue for it too, especially since it has been recently renovated. So if you haven’t been for a while, this is a good excuse to go and have a nosy. The whole day is really about getting people together, having a laugh, and showing that outdoor swimming isn’t just for the hardcore cold water thrill seekers. Whether you already love swimming outdoors or you’ve always fancied giving it a go but never quite got around to it, this should be a nice, easy way in. There’s even a sauna on site, if you need warming up afterwards.
This is an ideal way to spend a Saturday in the sun with your family.
