A summer fete is a classic English event that all the family can enjoy, and a fete that lasts the whole weekend is even better!
The Stubbington Ark Summer Fete will be taking place across the weekend of the 22nd and 23rd of August, and it is absolutely packed with things to see and do.
Just a few of the attractions include:
- Bouncy castle
- Food court (spuds,nachos, hotdogs)
- Bake off competition (Saturday) – plus cakes for sale
- Dog show comp (Sunday)
- Face Painting
- Axe Throwing
- Crockery smash
- Pony cycles
- Ice Cream
- Local Makers Market
- Lucky dip
- Tombola
- Raffle
- Boutique clothing stall
- Tea/Coffee refreshments
- Coconut shy
- Plant stall
- Hook a duck (Sunday)
- Remote control ariel simulator
…and most importantly, there will be a bar.

The bake off and dog show competitions seem like highlights to me. The bake off competition has several categories such as Best Large Cake, Best Professional Entry, Best Children’s Bake, and even an award for the Best Dog Cake/Treat! Dog show categories include Best Junior Handler, Best Rescue, and Best Tricks among others.
It sounds like there will be a really laid back, classic family fun vibe to the weekend, and since the event will be open from 11am until 4pm each day, you have plenty of time to have a look around, play some games, and have something to eat and drink. Since the bake off and dog shows are on different says, it would even be worth going twice!
Best of all, tickets are free (although they do ask you to bring bake off entries to the site on the Friday if possible), and the whole thing is being put together for charity. Given the location, you will not be surprised to hear that the charity in question is the local RSPCA animal centre, and what a worthy cause it is.
