Vegans, assemble!
The Portsmouth Vegan Festival is back for its 8th year in 2025, once again taking place at the Mountbatten Centre in Hilsea. The date is the 20th of September, so get it in your diary.
You don’t have to be a vegan to attend of course, non-vegans can come and experience an ethical, animal-friendly, and eco lifestyle for the day – you might just be surprised by how tasty some of the vegan food is.
There are over 60 different stalls to browse, and they won’t all be food and drink stalls either. Attendees can also expect to see:
- Vegan skincare and beauty products
- Vegan clothing
- Find vegan recipes
- Get nutritional advice aimed at a vegan lifestlye
- Enjoy talks and cookery demos
- Attend workshops
- …and even get a few free samples!
So it’s not just an opportunity to shop and find new companies making great products, but an opportunity to really engage with the vegan community and industry. You will get access to experts in their field, be able to ask questions and discuss interesting topics around veganism and sustainability. It’s a festival for the mind, body, and soul.
The festival is run by Vegan Events, who operate nationally, so it’s sure to be well run and the traders will all be vetted for quality.
Price of Entry
The Portsmouth Vegan Festival does have an entry fee, but it’s nominal.
You will pay £5.00 (plus fees of 60p!) to get in, with doors opening at 10:30am. However, if you want to spend £15.00 you can get VIP entry, which also gets you a goody bag full of products, samples, discounts, and special offers. If you’re planning to spend a bit at the stalls anyway, this could actually be a smart buy.
I would recommend taking a bit of money to spend. It would be a shame to go and not try any of the treats, or to not have money available if you see something you love.
The event runs from 10:30am until around 4:30pm, and although the organisers love animals, only guide dogs will be permitted inside the venue.
