Alice in Wonderland Easter Panto: New Theatre Royal, 1st of April 2026

A pantomime? In Easter?

Absolutely right there is a pantomime in Easter, it’s a thing, and it’s taking place on the 1st of April at the New Theatre Royal in Portsmouth. The show in question is Alice in Wonderland, produced by Hot Rock Productions. It’s a touring show so it’s only going to be showing for the one night, which means you will have to get your act together if you want to go.

The show itself is a fun filled treat full of toe tapping songs, lots of laughs, over the top characters and costumes, and of course plenty of bad puns. You can expect someone to describe something as eggselent at some point.

Here is the official synopsis:

Join Alice as she falls down the rabbit hole and finds herself in the most peculiar place she’s ever seen! She’ll need to have her wits about her as the evil, but hilarious, Queen of Hearts is after the secret recipe to create the best Jam Tarts for her tea party!

Alice will need all the help she can get from her Wonderland friends including the Mad Hatter, and the White Rabbit to stop the evil Queen of Harts from stealing the Jam Tart recipe!

Their adventures will take them on a magical journey through Wonderland as they fight good against evil and discover the power of true friendship.  But will they make it to the tea party in time? You’ve got an invitation too – come along to find out!

Sound good? Then here’s some advice from the White Rabbit:

Ticket prices are split into two bands as follows:

  • Band A: £20.00
  • Band A Concessions: £18.00
  • Band B: £18.00
  • Band B Concessions: £16.00

Be aware too that this is a matinee performance, so it starts at 2:00pm with doors opening roughly 45 minutes before. It’s a great way to kick off Easter and an even better way to help fill the school holidays.
