Everyone knows and loves Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. It’s a family film classic which is an annual watch in many households even today, but it was once also a hit West End musical, and now it is touring the country.
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang comes to to the Kings Theatre, Portsmouth, from the 9th to the 19th of April, with fourteen performances taking place across the eleven days. There are various different start times too, including plenty of matinees and evening shows that finish at a reasonable hour.
The show came to Portsmouth back in 2023 and went down an absolute storm with audiences. So if you missed it, you have a second chance to meet Caractacus Potts as he restores the old race car with his two adventurous children, and come across lots of other fantastic characters along the way, like Grandpa Potts, Baron Bomburst, the Child Catcher, and of course, Truly Scrumptious.
All of the favourite songs are included, like:
- Toot Sweets
- Hushabye Mountain
- Me Ol’ Bam-Boo
- and of course, the titular Chitty Bang Bang
Have a look at the trailer to remind yourself of how brilliant the musical score is:
